You can enjoy Garda Lake 365 days of the year and the choices are endless. Whether as a couple or as a family, on bikes or at the thermal baths, doing sport or enjoying great food; here every type of happiness is at your fingertips!

Il Lake Garda, is the biggest and most fascinating of all the Italian lakes. In the south it is surrounded by the morainic hills that remain from the glacial retreat and in the north, at the highest and narrowest point, it is embraced by high mountain ranges which give it the form and the style of a fjord and protect it, thereby creating a particularly mild climate similar to that of the Mediterranean. The bright atmosphere, gentleness of climate, rich vegetation of olive and orange trees, palms, cypress, lemon trees and Oleander , added to the grandeur of the scenery, that is the backdrop to the interesting historical and cultural evidence seen throughout the territory , makes this the most attractive of Italian lakes and the ideal destination for your holidays.

The unique and evocative scenery offers you a number of naturalistic and cultural opportunities. Of all the cities to discover, Peschiera del Garda is definitely the most important. Described by Dante in his Divine Comedy, it is a true gem set in Venetian walls and completely surrounded by water. The city was founded in one of the strategic positions along the lake, where the Mincio River and lake meet, so creating the perfect conditions for access and commerce. There is a particular and characteristic eco system that allows you to travel by canoe up to the Salionze dam, where the rushes and poplars frame the scenery to be seen.

If you are an enthusiast for cycle touring, then the cycle path that runs from Peschiera , through Borghetto and its water mills all the way to Mantova through the Mincio Nature park is not to be missed. This is a flat, paved 48km route that is suitable for the whole family. If making the return trip is a little too daunting then do not fear at the weekends in the Spring and Summer months there is a bus service with bike racks that will bring you back from Mantova to Peschiera.

Another renowned destination is the town of Desenzano del Garda. It is positioned in a privileged location that offers a splendid panorama of the lake and is framed by Monte Corno on one side and by the Sirmione peninsula on the other. Lively and full of bars and shops, Desenzano offers those that love sport a wide range of possibilities, such as windsurfing or mountain biking or more simply cycling along the banks of the lake. Don’t miss visiting the city’s castle that offers one of the most spectacular views of the lake from its watch walkways.

Relaxation and Culture is how we would define the town of Sirmione, one of the most characteristic and picturesque places along the banks of the lake. Famous for its thermal waters, its geographical position, which extends along a peninsula into the lake, boasts a strong connection between culture and nature. This area is the most impressive archeological area in northern Italy, so take a journey through time by visiting the splendid Grotte di Catullo museum and archeological site where the Ruins of a Roman Villa arise, which legend says was the residence of the poet Catullo. Be charmed by the Sirmione Scaligero Castle, a rare example of a Lacustrine Castle and fascinating example of fortification connected on all sides by drawbridges and equipped with a wet dock that was once the Scaliger fleets’ refuge. Visit, inside the castle, the Historic fortress exhibit and walk along the top of the patrol walkways and up to the Fort Tower to see the incredible view that the lake offers.

And for the little ones? A magical day at Gardaland, amongst rides, tornadoes, breathtaking adventures and amazing characters with Prezzemolo leading the way, is a must! The biggest amusement park in Italyensures incredible and exciting thrills for children but also adults that are still a little like Peter Pan in their hearts! And don’t forget to immerge yourselves in the fantastic world that is Sealife, where you will be thrilled by close encounters with sharks, the kingdom of the Sea lions and can visit the Marine turtles paradise.
